West Brom fans should watch title-chasing Chasetown on Non-League Day

The international break means there is no game for Steve Bruce’s West Brom side but there are plenty of games supporters can watch instead.

This Saturday (26 March) is 2021-22’s Non-League Day where fans of Premier League and Championship sides are actively encouraged to visit their local side.

Fans are sometimes given either discounts or even free entry if they hold a season ticket to a Premier League or Championship club but that won’t be an option for Baggies fans at this particular game.

We recommend that Albion supporters head to the Scholars Ground to support Chasetown FC in their bid to win the Northern Premier League Midlands Division.

The Scholars are level on points with title rivals Ilkeston Town on 72 apiece and have the chance to cement their play-off place already if they beat Cambridge City on Saturday.

But Staffordshire-based Chasetown aren’t content with just the play-offs this season and they will be hoping Ilkeston drop points away at Yaxley to surge into the league lead.

It isn’t just Chasetown who are playing on Non-League Day however and there are five other games within seven miles of The Hawthorns for your entertainment.

Tividale host Racing Club Warwick (Ben Foster’s first team) at Packwood Road in the Midlands Football League with a playoff place still within reach.

If you want to go one better, Boldmere St. Michaels sit second in that division and host Haughmond as they pursue league leaders Hanley Town.

Darlaston Town have picked up 13 points from their last five game and host Heath Hayes in the division below that also sees Cradley Town welcome Wednesfield.

Finally, Rushall Olympic are also chasing promotion as they host Stratford Town in the Southern Premier Central Division.

In other West Brom news, there has been a key exit behind-the-scenes at The Hawthorns with Midlands rivals benefitting.
