Jayson Molumby triggers contract clause, will stay at West Brom next season – report
West Brom will complete a £900,000 deal to sign Jayson Molumby permanently after he triggered a clause in his loan agreement, according to Express and Star.
Molumby is currently at the club on loan from Brighton having joined last summer and has made 24 appearances so far this season.
According to journalist Joseph Masi, that number has surpassed the number of games needed to turn his loan deal permanent and he will now sign a long-term contract to stay at The Hawthorns beyond the summer.
The permanent deal will cost around £900,000 according to Masi, with the Baggies very keen to keep him after what they consider to be a successful loan spell.
The midfielder is currently away with the Republic of Ireland squad for international duty and at 22-years-old the club believe he will continue to develop significantly over the next few years.
Big move
Molumby hasn’t always been a starter this season, but when he has played he has been impressive and is more than deserving of a permanent deal with the club.
His energy and passing in midfield have brought extra quality to a squad that has lacked in the centre of the pitch this season and despite his age he has good experience.

With 12 international caps and over 60 appearances in the Championship following spells with Millwall and Preston previously, he can provide quality competition for places next season.
Taylor Gardner-Hickman has been the standout performer at just 20-years-old, but with both players now tied down to long-term contracts at the club they have a solid foundation to build on.
There is plenty of room for development and game time at The Hawthorns now and Molumby will have a great opportunity to establish himself as a regular next season as they push to return to the Premier League.
