West Brom want to sign Sean Longstaff on a free transfer this summer – report
Steve Bruce wants a reunion with Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff at West Brom this summer, according to a report by TeamTALK.
The central midfielder is out of contract at St James’ Park at the end of the season and with plenty of transfer activity expected, it’s unlikely that his contract will be extended.
That means he will be free to sign for anyone else, and Bruce is reportedly eyeing a move to bring him to The Hawthorns to bolster their midfield area.

Bruce and Longstaff worked together during his time on Tyneside, with Bruce making him a first-team regular after he was introduced to the first team by Rafa Benitez.
Middlesbrough are also interested in a deal and that could prove to be more attractive if they manage to secure promotion to the Premier League, but Bruce wants to win the race for his signature.
Depth
One thing West Brom have really lacked this season is depth, especially in midfield.
When Jake Livermore got suspended the Baggies essentially fell to just three central midfielders, with Bruce opting to use winger Adam Reach in the middle on several occasions during his first set of games.

But with Jayson Molumby set to sign on a permanent deal in the summer after triggering a clause in his loan deal from Brighton, the addition of Longstaff would be a positive one to add quality and depth in a problem area.
It would add competition to an area in the side that currently picks itself for Bruce, while also adding Premier League experience to a side that needs promotion next season.
With the potential return of Romaine Sawyers to the squad too, the side could see big improvements with minimal spend in the summer which would be ideal.
