Manchester United to consider Dean Henderson loan exit if they sign Sam Johnstone from West Brom – Sky Sports
Manchester United might consider letting Dean Henderson out on loan if they manage to sign West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone in the summer, according to Sky Sports.
The broadcaster reports that Man United are battling Tottenham to sign the 29-year-old Baggies number one, who’s set to leave The Hawthorns in the summer when his contract expires.
It is understood that Man United are planning to shake up their goalkeeping department and Henderson, 25, is considering his options.
One-time England international Henderson could be loaned out by the Red Devils but Sky Sports reports that “there are question marks about which clubs would be prepared to pay the lion’s share of his wage”.
Nonsensical
If Johnstone wants to be in the England squad for the 2022 World Cup later this year, it’s unlikely that he’ll be in Gareth Southgate’s plans if he’s a second-choice goalkeeper at Man United.
He’ll find it tough to be in Southgate’s squad if he is a number one goalkeeper at a Premier League club.

Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale, Nick Pope and Henderson could all be above Johnstone in Southgate’s pecking order and all of them could be number ones at their respective clubs by the time next season begins.
However, Johnstone appears to be done at West Brom.
Albion have known about his contract situation for some time and the ex-Man United ‘keeper’s form has suffered this season.
Steve Bruce, if stays on at The Hawthorns, has David Button, Alex Palmer and youngster Joshua Griffiths who could step up and take the number one shirt once Johnstone moves on.
It’s just a shame for West Brom that they won’t be receiving a transfer fee for a player who was so strong for them in the Premier League last season and has impressed in his handful of caps for the Three Lions.
In other West Brom news, Albion are trying to secure a new deal for this senior player after what Steve Bruce told the media.
