Sky Sports pundit David Prutton predicts result of West Brom clash v Blackpool

Sky Sports pundit David Prutton is predicting the poor form of West Brom to continue against Blackpool on Good Friday in the Championship this week.

The Baggies saw their playoff hopes dashed last weekend when they fell to a 3-1 defeat at home to Stoke, with manager Steve Bruce admitting he’ll use the rest of the season to experiment.

But those experiments are bound to end in defeat according to Prutton, who is predicting a 2-1 defeat at home once again when they face 16th place Blackpool.

Bruce has confirmed that David Button will start in goal for the next few games to try and earn the number one shirt ahead of next season.

But there could be more changes to the side as Bruce starts to weed out who he wants and doesn’t want ahead of the new campaign, meaning a weakened side could certainly fall to defeat again.

Pain

This season is essentially over and the team are just playing games through because they have to rather than because they have anything to play for.

That feeling has truly settled in among the fans, so it’s difficult to imagine that it hasn’t hit the players in the same way too and with a lack of motivation they could end up getting beaten.

But if the players have any intention of having a future at the club, the hope is that they’ll turn in a performance that will have the manager questioning why he didn’t use certain players earlier.

The fans will be hoping to see some hunger and personal pride at play to kick off their bank holiday weekend, but hopes won’t be high because neither team has anything to play for.

Defeat won’t be fun, because it never is, but if it helps the club figure out who wants to be there and who doesn’t then most fans would probably take that.
