Tottenham ‘working hard on background details’ to complete signing of West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone
Tottenham are ‘working hard on background details’ to complete the signing of West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, and are confident of him joining them according to Dean Jones.
The England international will leave the club at the end of the season when his current contract expires, with Steve Bruce admitting he won’t play for the club again as they prepare for life without him.
It’s now been shared by transfer guru Jones on GiveMeSport that Spurs are very confident that they have done enough to get him to choose them over potential other options.

Jones reports that Tottenham have been ‘working hard on background details’ and are growing in confidence that they will win the race for his signature.
Johnstone has also been linked with moves to Rangers, Manchester United and West Ham this summer but he hasn’t commented on a preferred destination other than to say he wants to be in the top flight.
Inevitable
It’s no surprise that Johnstone is edging closer to The Hawthorns exit door, with the club having known all season long that he would be off this summer.
The 28-year-old had no intention of renewing his deal but opted to stay in the Championship rather than try and force a move in the summer when nobody would match his value.

But now that he has a plethora of options with the club’s season essentially over, he is likely to make a decision sooner rather than later and all signs are pointing to north London.
The Baggies are already looking to the future, with David Button starting the win over Blackpool on Friday afternoon and being promised to start the remaining games.
Now Johnstone is doing the same thing for himself and this ‘saga’ is winding down to a close before the season is completed.
