West Brom stay must end for Jamie Soule after goalless 2021/22 season
West Brom haven’t been the most prolific of teams in the Championship this season and that effect seems to have spread to loan players too.
Especially when it comes to strikers and perhaps the worst affected of those is 21-year-old Jamie Soule who is currently out on loan at Cheltenham Town in League One.
He had previously spent the first half of this season with the Robins’ divisional rivals Lincoln City but he played just one league game while scoring on his only Papa John’s Trophy appearance for the Imps [Transfer Markt].

But the loan wasn’t extended when January rolled around, unsurprisingly, and Soule was sent out elsewhere in the league, this time to his birth town of Cheltenham.
Since that move though, things have gone even worse for Soule who is yet to make a single appearance for Michael Duff’s side as he struggles to make it in the football league.
Being only one division lower than his parent club, Soule would have hoped that a half-decent season could have boosted him to being on the fringes of the Albion first team but he couldn’t be further away from that.
It’s been just as bad for him when he’s had the chance to play for the Baggies’ Under-23s with seven appearances in academy football leading to no goals.

For any striker at any level of football, one goal all season is truly dreadful form and his chances of becoming a West Brom regular must surely be over having failed so spectacularly.
Steve Bruce won’t be impressed with his lack of games but he has been in the game long enough to know that it’s down to the player to force his way in and Soule hasn’t done so.
It would be quite the surprise if he remained a West Brom player for much longer and he’ll have to start searching for a fresh start lower down the footballing pyramid.
In other West Brom news, Bruce is worried about his Albion future after a recent admission to the media.
