West Brom goalkeeper David Button thanked by fan after what he did post Blackpool game

West Brom goalkeeper David Button handed his jersey to a young fan after their 2-1 win against Blackpool on Friday (April 15).

The Baggies secured the three points and their play-off push courtesy of a late Karlan Grant winning goal.

After the contest, Button, who is likely to be the number one until the end of the season, made the day of a young fan.

His father took to Twitter to share the picture and thank the Baggies player for his generosity.

He wrote, “I would like to thank David Button for making my lads day today and giving him his shirt after the game vs Blackpool. This is what I love to see from the game. One very happy boy.”

Top man Button

It’s good to see this from Button as that young fan will probably remember that moment for the rest of his life.

He probably will showcase it and hold that memorabilia close to his heart and it will be one of the happiest days he’s had since supporting the club.

The 33-year-old was starting as Steve Bruce appears to have made a decision to leave Sam Johnstone out as he appears set for an exit this summer.

However, even Button has been threatened by the manager to be shown the door at the club for not staying in West Bromwich and instead commuting all the way from Brighton.

Bruce said, via Express and Star: “He won’t live in Brighton anymore if he wants new [contract] talks.

“It’s something we have to address. I don’t think travelling more than an hour can be good for you.”

It remains to be seen how this goalkeeping mess at the club is addressed in the due course.

In other West Brom news, an English club is increasingly confident of beating their rivals to sign a Baggies player this summer.
