Sky Sports pundit gushes over Kyle Bartley despite error in West Brom v Nottingham Forest
Andy Hinchcliffe has praised West Brom defender Kyle Bartley’s defensive work in the first half against Nottingham Forest.
The Baggies find themselves 3-0 down at half time and their hopes of securing a top-six finish appear to be coming to an end.
However, during a Forest attack, Bartley made a stunning defensive header only to play the ball back to Brennan Johnson who then set up a decent chance for the hosts.

Hinchcliffe, who is on co-commentary on Sky Sports, said, “Bartley’s defensive header is outstanding but you don’t need to do that. Just head it out to safety rather than giving Brennan Johnson a chance to cross it in.”
Shameful
The entire defence has been in shambles and the Baggies have paid the price for it.
Steve Bruce, despite his reputation of being a defensive coach has failed to instil a basic structure at the club.
His teams still seem to be all over the place, especially on the transition.
Whatever little chances they had to secure a play-off berth are evaporating with each passing minute.

Unless it’s a completely new and driven team in the second half with each player singing from the same hymn sheet, they’re unlikely to turn things around.
Comebacks have been made with 10 men in the past and the Baggies must throw caution to the wind and get the job done or they can bid farewell to their promotion hopes.
