Super Computer makes new West Brom promotion prediction after Championship developments
West Brom have a three per cent chance of making the Championship play-offs, according to FiveThirtyEight’s super computer.
Middlesbrough and Blackburn both lost on Saturday afternoon, meaning Steve Bruce’s men do technically stand a chance of finishing inside the top-six.
Albion kick-off at 8pm against Nottingham Forest tonight [18 April] while Sheffield United play at Bristol City at 5:30pm.

If the Blades lose, West Brom could move within two points of the play-off positions if they beat Forest at the City Ground.
FiveThirtyEight have crunched the numbers and now say that West Brom have an outside chance of making the play-offs. They also have a measly one per cent chance of winning promotion overall.

So you’re telling me there’s a chance?
No. Absolutely not.
West Brom’s season has been over for a long time with Bruce unable to pick up the club’s form since taking the reins from Valerien Ismael.
It’s been a shocker of a campaign for the Baggies, who have a squad that is completely unable to mount any kind of serious challenge.
If Bristol City win against Sheffield United and we go on to beat Forest, there’ll be a lot of fans who think that a top-six finish is on.
In truth, it’s not. It’s still achievable, yes. But will it happen? No, it won’t.
And even if West Brom do snatch a sixth-placed finish, a campaign in the play-offs would be an absolute embarrassment.
Not many of these players can stand up to the pressure of playing in big games so we highly doubt they’ll be able to perform well over two legs in a semi-final.
This season is all but done.
