Adrian Goldberg calls for Steve Bruce to get West Brom sack

Easter Monday was perhaps the lowest point of the season for West Brom with a humiliating 4-0 defeat away to Nottingham Forest.

The result put any faint hopes of a playoff push out of the window and supporters have been voicing their displeasure at the result and the season as a whole.

None more so than the host of the Liquidator podcast Adrian Goldberg who has called for Bruce to be sacked in their latest episode.

“I would ask questions of the manager, as well as the players,” Goldberg said. “Jake Livermore seemed to lose his head (against Nottingham Forest), Taylor Gardner-Hickman kicked the ball into the crowd.

“All too symptomatic of a club where the rot has really set in and we clearly need change on the playing side and for my money, we need change on the coaching side.

“I’ve had it with Steve Bruce, we need a new manager.”

Fresh impetus

If West Brom do pull the trigger (figuratively of course) and fire Bruce at the end of the season, then they can’t just hire another has-been to tide them over.

The Baggies need progressive, modern thinking more than they need a good old fashioned, hard-nosed dictator if they have any kind of ambition of returning to the Premier League.

And while results in the immediate are important, they should not pile the pressure on whoever takes the reigns after Bruce as soon as things get tough.

More than ever, patience is required at The Hawthorns to allow the next manager to come in and fully implement his philosophies and bring in his own group of players which will take more than just one summer window.

Who that manager will be, who knows? but Albion really need to get this decision right and not backtrack before they reach the end of the driveway.

In other West Brom news, we think Bruce has to start selecting this player to start before he decides to leave for pastures new, leaving the club in the dirt.
