Sean Longstaff and John Swift deals would transform West Brom in summer
Now that Steve Bruce is going to be at the helm of West Brom for the next season at least, he can start planning for the summer already.
While the primary aim will be to pick as many points as they can, the central focus shifts to scouting and getting the right players for the next season.
A complete squad revival is needed, and it must start with bolstering the midfield.

According to a recent story from Express and Star, West Brom are scouting John Swift as they want to bring the Reading midfielder to the squad.
Swift has been outstanding for a struggling squad, managing 13 goals and providing 11 assists from midfield.
Bruce said recently [Birmingham Mail] that he needs creativity in the middle of the park, and Swift is someone who can provide that.
His potential inclusion to the squad would obviously raise questions about the future of Alex Mowatt, the out-of-form summer signing.
The Baggies also need a top-quality defensive midfielder in the summer, and this is where Bruce must return to his former club to sign Sean Longstaff for free.

Earlier this month, TeamTalk reported that the Baggies are keen to sign the Magpies midfielder who has struggled to nail down a regular role in Eddie Howe’s side.
He has barely featured in the Premier League, managing full 90 minutes only once since January.
However, he is a quality player and if he is willing to drop down a division, he would represent a cracking signing for the club.
Two quality midfielders in two different roles and both available for a bargain would be massive signings for the club if they can get them.
In other West Brom news, Bruce is ready to open talks with a national team manager to beg him not to select this Albion ace for the summer fixtures.
