West Brom slammed as ‘painful’ by Chris Lepkowski in Coventry 0-0 draw
West Brom played out a bore draw at home to Coventry City as neither side could break the deadlock in a typical end-of-season game.
There were next to no big chances to speak of as the Sky Blues’ extremely faint hopes of a playoff place disappeared just like the Baggies’ own had in the last week.
The only moment of note came in the dying seconds of the game as Karlan Grant saw his penalty saved by the Coventry goalkeeper to top off a dire afternoon.
The former head of West Brom’s media department and now Liquidator podcast co-host Chris Lepkowski was far from impressed by what he saw from the Albion.
“A painful lack of quality in this WBA side,” Lepkowski said on his personal Twitter account.
Give up
This season is already over for us and we shouldn’t be pretended that there is anything else to play for.
The final two fixtures could be very treacherous as a result with Reading fighting a relegation battle, although look likely to survive, and Barnsley already down with a point to prove.

Equally though, those final couple of games against poor opposition should allow Steve Bruce to experiment a bit and give some of the club’s exciting young talent a chance to shine with no pressure on their shoulders.
Reyes Cleary is the one who people have been screaming from the rooftops to be given an opportunity in the senior side and someone like Layton Love could be another who gets the nod given his recent form for Albion’s youth sides.
As Bruce seems to be sticking around next season, he needs to try these kinds of players to see if he has a hidden gem in his ranks.
In other West Brom news, this world-famous club could be coming to The Hawthorns for a pre-season friendly.
