West Brom target Jed Wallace will not be joining former manager Valerien Ismael at Besiktas

West Brom target Jed Wallace will not be joining former Baggies manager Valerien Ismael at Besiktas, according to the72.

Wallace, 28, is out of contract at Millwall in the summer, having spent six years in South East London, and the Express & Star now claims he’s wanted by Steve Bruce at The Hawthorns.

It was reported that the Turkish giants were close to signing the ex-Wolves winger by TeamTalk earlier this week.

However, after the appointment of former Baggies manager Ismael, it is believed that he and Besiktas are no longer keen on the move.

Good news for the baggies

This could be a boost for Steve Bruce and his pursuit of Wallace as he looks to mount a serious promotion push for next season.

Wallace has the third-most assists in the Championship with eleven and has also managed six goals this season.

For a West Brom side that has managed the fourth-fewest amount of goals in the Championship (47), a player of Wallace’s creative calibre could be exactly what they need.

If the Baggies were to land Wallace it would be a good start in trying to get The Hawthorns faithful back on board after a wretched season.

Wallace has 38 goals for Millwall after coming through the ranks at Portsmouth, where he scored 27 times.

At the age of 28, the next move in his career is vital if he has any Premier League aspirations.

A move abroad could be an option for him and his family, but a player who has starred at the Championship level for a number of years maybe fancies one last shot at reaching the Premier League
