West Brom confirm signing of Jayson Molumby from Brighton
West Brom have finally confirmed the signing of 22-year-old Brighton midfielder Jayson Molumby on a permanent basis after a successful loan spell.
The Irishman has played 30 times for the Baggies this season, scoring his one and only goal in a 2-1 away defeat to Middlesbrough, the first goal of the Steve Bruce era.
He already has a wealth of second-tier experience under his belt with more than 75 Championship appearances and Bruce thinks he can be a big part of their push towards a Premier League return.

“We’re really pleased to have Jayson on board permanently,” the boss said to the club’s website.
“He’s a young player full of energy and passion, and we see plenty of potential in him to grow and develop further.
“He’s only 22 and he’s already played more than 75 games in the Championship.
“He’s managed to force himself into our XI recently and now his challenge is to stay there by continuing to show improvements in his game.”
Overdue
Every man and his dog knew that this was coming many moons ago due to the clause in his loan agreement with the Seagulls but it is still good to get it down on paper.

Molumby might not be as creative as Bruce wants from his midfield department but what he may lack in creativity he makes up for with obsessive running.
As a purely box-to-box midfielder, there might not be a layer in the second division who can cover as much ground as the 22-year-old can and that has helped Albion recently as the season winds down to a close.
Some players are getting tired much earlier after a taxing 2021-22 campaign but Molumby’s never-ending supply of energy has seen him become rather effective later in games.
This won’t be the only addition to the midfield with more moves expected and Bruce will also have Romaine Sawyers back from loan so the competition is going to be fierce but Molumby has enough to keep his head above water.
In other West Brom news, Bruce was in attendance as the Under-23s booked their place in a cup final last night.
