Marc-Antoine Fortune confirms West Brom return for Chris Brunt and James Morrison testimonial
Marc-Antoine Fortune has confirmed that he’ll be returning to West Brom in September to play in the Chris Brunt v James Morrison testimonial match.
To celebrate the careers both Brunty and Mozza had at The Hawthorns, the two Albion heroes will be assembling a team to play against each other on 24 September.
Fortune, 40, played alongside both of the modern-day greats and he’s taken to his personal Instagram account to show he’s back in training, joking that the Baggies might want to re-sign him.

Getting ready for [‘Brunty v Mozza’] friendly game for Albion Foundation,” said the former Albion striker.
“Maybe West Brom sign me back after…”

Sign him up
While Fortune’s name isn’t one that’s mentioned much around The Hawthorns these days, the ex-West Brom striker is certainly a popular player who endeared himself to the fans in the Black Country.
Fortune played 89 times for the Baggies, scoring 13 goals and supplying nine assists across two spells at the club.
He was never an out-and-out goalscorer but the striker was someone who gave 100 per cent every time he played, was technically-gifted and was part of some really impressive results.
Fortune first joined Albion in January 2009 when Tony Mowbray signed him on loan from French club Nancy.
Even though he was at the club for a matter of months before the club was relegated, Fortune won West Brom’s player of the season award and ended up following Mowbray to Celtic afterwards.
Fortune then returned to Albion in August 2010 after Roberto Di Matteo led them back to the Premier League.
Goals were never Fortune’s strong point and while he only really joined to add some depth, he had an impact – which is more than what we can say about some of the players we’ve seen since at The Hawthorns.
We’re delighted that Fortune is coming back for this friendly game and can’t see who else Brunt and Morrison have lined up for their testimonial game later this year.
In other West Brom news, Matheus Pereira has sent a message to this player who’s exited The Hawthorns.
