Steve Bruce set to hand Zohore chance to resurrect career if he stays at West Brom
Steve Bruce will reportedly hand West Brom striker Kenneth Zohore a chance to resurrect his career if he stays this summer.
According to The Athletic journalist Elias Burke, the Baggies are still open to offers for the 28-year-old, but there remains a chance that he could stay.
In case he does, the 2022/23 season would be the last chance for him to impress at the Hawthorns as his deal is set to expire in a year.
Via Twitter, Burke wrote, “Though #WBA are open to offers for Zohore, Bruce will hand him a chance to resurrect his career if he stays. He’s shown very little at The Hawthorns thus far but proved he can contribute at Cardiff. 22-23 is his last chance to do it w/ Albion.”
Sell him
Zohore has been given plenty of chances to prove his worth at Albion, but he has not lived up to his expectations.
He is on a professional contract and part of the club’s payroll which means that he’s proving to be a liability if he isn’t playing well.
Bruce might be open to working with him another season, but he is certainly not going to consider him as his first choice option.
Rather than hoping for Zohore to miraculously turn his career around in a year, it’s more sensible to assume that he is past his best.
They have a chance of at least getting something from his sale this summer and they must grab that opportunity.
Rather than just being open to offers, they must actively go out and make a sale happen.
