West Brom enter tricky transfer phase as Steve Bruce sets priorities
West Brom will prioritise offloading players before they can buy again, as reported by The Birmingham Mail.
The report (29 June) suggests that Steve Bruce is about to enter the tricky phase where he needs to ship out players who are tied down for the coming season and beyond, and who are on long contracts and might be considered dispensable by the manager.
The Baggies have already made two signings, but Bruce needs to add more players. As many as three more signings are needed by the club.

Tricky
So far, it’s been a brilliant start to the summer from the Baggies.
They have added two very good players in John Swift and Jed Wallace, but further additions won’t be possible unless the club clear up more space.
It is absolutely vital for the club to get rid of the high earners at the club. Bruce needs to be ruthless here and offload players who are on long-term deals.
It is only then the Baggies can build on their early transfer business.

The club made the right decision by not retaining Andy Carroll and Romaine Sawyers. Sam Johnstone also left the club following the expiry of his contract.
The likes of Owen Windsor, Aurio Teixeira and Jamie Soule have been released while the Baggies have allowed young striker Callum Morton to depart the club on a permanent deal.
More departures are expected in the coming weeks but it would be really tricky to push those players out of the club.
While the Championship market has been operating slowly, the Baggies must be active with both their outgoing and incoming transfers.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies are set to battle Manchester United to sign an exit-bound Premier League goalkeeper this summer.
