West Brom-linked Gabriel Sara accepts £9m Norwich City proposal
Sao Paulo have accepted Norwich City’s £9million offer for Gabriel Sara which almost ends the chances of signing him for West Brom, according to Ge Globo.
The Canaries and the Baggies were embroiled in a two-horse race to sign the 23-year-old, who has been injured since April, with last season’s Premier League basement club winning out in the end.
An agreement is expected to be announced within the coming days but a transfer is still dependent on the Brazilain’s medical as he continues to train back towards match fitness in his homeland.

Sao Paulo are still hoping to have a sell-on clause added to the deal should Norwich sell him on in the future while Sara is holding out for some more performance incentives in his contract before signing.
West Brom did try to sign the 23-year-old themselves but they have not managed to match what Norwich City have been able to put together with the added financial clout that being a Premier League side last season brings.
Relief
As much as signing a Brazilian midfield sensation might get eh juices flowing within for many West Brom fans, this might be the best thing that could have happened for us this summer.
We simply do not have the money to be able to spend £9million on one player no matter how good they might be when we have so many issues to resolve at The Hawthorns.

We also can’t take a risk in signing a player that has never played on European soil let alone in England when we have a very important season ahead.
Nothing other than promotion can really be accepted in the 2022-23 season if we want to avoid getting stuck in the Championship for years on end like so many have ended up doing.
Nottingham Forest have only just been able to escape the lottery of the second tier after more than a decade of struggle and a club as big as ours should not be spending more than two seasons here before we go back up.
In other West Brom news, Ron Gourlay has revealed that the club are working very hard to stop their young talents from leaving the club before making their senior debuts.
