Joseph Masi reports West Brom not interested in signing Ben Foster

West Brom are unlikely to make a move for veteran goalkeeper Ben Foster, that is according to Express & Star reporter Joseph Masi.

The Baggies have recently lost Josh Griffiths who has joined Portsmouth on a season-long loan.

However, Masi, on his Twitter account, stated that West Brom are unlikely to make a move for any goalkeeper despite the departure of the 20-year-old.

Surprising

West Brom are coming off the back of a rather disappointing campaign where they finished in the 10th spot of the Championship table, eight points behind sixth-placed Luton Town.

To improve things further, manager Steve Bruce has been keen on making significant additions to the available squad.

The departure of someone like Griffiths will definitely going to be a blow for the team’s chances overall as he has been very impressive in League One and League Two over the last few seasons.

Therefore, it is a rather surprising development to see that West Brom will not make a move for anyone, especially more so someone like Foster, who is available as a free agent.

Having someone so experienced in the squad as Foster having played more than 300 matches in the Premier League would’ve also given the players a much-needed insight as to how to prepare for the fight ahead and therefore, it seems like a mistake.

In other West Brom news, a former Albion star is training at the club’s training ground as he looks to find a new club.
