West Brom midfielder Quevin Castro joins Burton Albion on loan despite offer from Italy
West Brom young midfielder Quevin Castro has joined Burton Albion on loan for the next season, the club confirmed on Thursday.
The 20-year-old signed for the Baggies in 2021 and has officially entered the last year of his contract. He made his senior debut in a 6-0 defeat against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.
Interestingly, as per Express & Star journalist Joseph Masi, the player had offers from other clubs in League One, League Two as well as clubs from Italy but he decided to join Burton.
Prospect
Castro has only made two Championship appearances for the Baggies last season, both coming from the bench.
However, in those two appearances, he did show some flashes of the player he could be for the club going forward.
The 20-year-old averaged 0.5 tackles, 0.5 key passes and an 80% pass completion rate in his two Championship games for the Albions [Whoscored].
Despite getting only 35 minutes under his belt, the West Brom fans can safely say that there is a player in there and they will be hoping to see him becoming a part of the team moving forward.

As manager Steve Bruce has the ambitions of bringing the Baggies back to the Premier League, he needs first-team players that can make an impact within the team instantly rather than the players who are just there to fill up the squad members.
De Castro, as good as he looked in those two matches, clearly needs time to be considered a first-teamer at a top-tier Championship club. Therefore, a move to Burton Albion is good for his progress.
In other West Brom news, a former Albion star is training at the club’s training ground as he looks to find a new club.
