West Brom captain Jake Livermore must up game as player nears return
West Brom appear to be getting closer to securing their third signing of the 2022 summer window and it could spell trouble for a Hawthorns icon.
Jake Livermore has been with the Baggies since 2017 and has held the captaincy for some time too which has made him a player who is almost always included in the side under a variety of managers.
There is now, however, a potential new addition that could threaten his place in Steve Bruce’s side and it is someone Livermore will know very well from earlier in his Albion career.

According to Turkish media outlet Takvim, Okay Yokuslu is getting ever closer to a return to the Midlands having been released by Celta Vigo in Spain.
The 28-year-old has also been in talks with Istanbul giants Besiktas, managed by former Albion boss Valerien Ismael, and Galatasaray but he has turned them both down.
That leaves the Baggies in pole position in the race to sign the Turk who previously spent time with West Brom in 2021 when he was on loan for half of the season from Celta Vigo.
His performances were one of the few highlights of a campaign that saw the club relegated from the Premier League and he would be welcomed back with open arms but it could spell trouble for the skipper.

Livermore may have been the regular feature in the West Brom midfield for the past five years but he has also been heavily involved in the past two years where we have not achieved our goals.
Yokuslu may offer that fresh impetus that we have been needing in the middle of the park and if he hits the ground running, the captain could find himself having to watch on from the bench.
In other West Brom news, Cedric Kipre’s next destination seems to be decided but he won’t be going for good just yet.
