Daryl Dike out injured, Okay Yokuslu on bench – Confirmed West Brom XI vs Watford
West Brom have made one change from the opening day as they take on Watford in their first home game of the Championship season.
The Baggies opened their season with a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough last week and will be looking for a big win over promotion rivals Watford, which has seen Bruce select an attacking side.
Daryl Dike misses out with a thigh injury which means Karlan Grant starts up front, flanked by Grady Diangana and Jed Wallace on the wings. John Swift starts after his debut goal, with Jayson Molumby starting in midfield alongside captain Jake Livermore. Okay Yokuslu is on the bench
It’s the same defence that performed admirably on the opening day of the season last time out, while David Button continues in goal as the new number one for the club.
Confirmed West Brom XI: Button; Furlong, Ajayi, O’Shea, Townsend; Livermore, Molumby; Wallace, Swift, Diangana; Grant
Full strength?
This is a strong team and with only minimal injuries and players missing out, there is no excuse for this team not to be good enough to compete against the other top sides in the division.
With players like Yokuslu, Matty Phillips, Alex Mowatt and Kyle Bartley on the bench it’s clear to see how much the squad has improved from last season.

Now the team needs to turn in a performance that can get The Hawthorns bouncing after such a dull season in 2021/22 which saw them finish up in their worst position since the 1999/00 season.
There is a great balance in attack with goals from all four forward positions, while they’re countered by the solid base in midfield which they will hope can stifle the Watford attack.
It will be a great test to see where the squad really is and how they can compare against a team fresh out of the Premier League looking to go straight back up.
