West Brom compete with Watford for signing of Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury
West Brom are facing competition from Watford for the signing of Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury, according to Daily Mail.
The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium in the ongoing transfer window.
As per the latest report, the Baggies, who have been interested in Choudhury for a while, are now facing competition from their Monday-night rivals in a bid to land the midfielder on loan this summer.
It is believed that the former England U21 international is open to a move to the Championship in order to get more game time.
Important signing
West Brom came into the transfer window knowing that they had to sign quite a few players to bolster their chances of securing a spot back in the top-tier of English football and that’s what they’ve done.
Choudhury would be another of those signings as he would bring a much-needed solidity in the middle of the park for the side.
Steve Bruce has been a big admirer of the 24-year-old and wanted to bring him to Newcastle United as well and therefore, it is important that he will get his wish over the line and ensure that the player will not move to a direct promotion rival.
The 24-year-old is a Leicester academy product and was promoted to the senior team in the summer of 2018.
Since then, the defensive midfielder, who is in the final year of his contract with the Foxes, has represented his current club in 83 matches across all competitions where he has managed to score twice and provided a couple of assists as well [Transfermarkt].
