West Brom early team news v Sheffield United: Okay Yokuslu set to feature

West Brom midfielder Okay Yokuslu will be involved in the club’s EFL Cup tie against Sheffield United, according to manager Steve Bruce.

The Baggies re-signed the midfielder earlier in the window on a free transfer after he left former club Celta Vigo.

He made his second debut for the club in the home draw against Watford on Monday (8 August), coming on as a late second-half substitute, but the Express and Star’s Lewis Cox has relayed Bruce’s confirmation that he will be involved against the Blades.

Cox said: ” Steve Bruce confirms involvement tomorrow in EFL Cup against Sheffield Utd for Okay Yokuslu, Callum Robinson, Alex Palmer, Kyle Bartley, Adam Reach, Alex Mowatt, and Taylor Gardner-Hickman.”

Involvement for Yokuslu

This is good news for Baggies fans hoping to get a look at their new signing as well as getting to watch some other young talents and returning stars.

Veteran defender Kyle Bartley will return from injury against the Blades after recovering from an ankle injury he suffered at the end of last season.

Callum Robinson, who has been the subject of transfer interest, will also feature after being an unused substitute against Watford.

Rarely-seen goalkeeper Alex Palmer will likely replace number one keeper, David Button, between the sticks with full-back Adam Reach, who was also a late substitute against the Hornets, coming into the side.

The match will also give Baggies fans a chance to watch exciting 20-year-old defender Taloy Garnder-Hickman, who will be looking to add to his 21 appearances for the club.

In other West Brom news, the club had offered a trial to League 1 attacker, Tom Lowery.
