Steve Bruce confirms Keinan Davis is on West Brom striker shortlist
West Brom are considering a pursuit of Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis as manager Steve Bruce confirmed on Thursday evening (11 August).
The Baggies overcame a tough Sheffield United side in the Carabao Cup thanks to a goal from Karlan Grant off the bench but they have injuries problems to contend with.
The main concern will be that United States international Daryl Dike is set to miss a substantial period of time through injury and Bruce is looking at Davis, 24, as an alternative to sign before the window closes.

“I will never mention names, but I know Keinan very well,” Bruce told The Athletic [11 August, 10:57pm]. “We’ve been put in a situation we didn’t want to be on in, but we’ll look at the market and see what’s available. He’s an option, we’ll see where we get with it.”
Deja Vu
Is it January again?
Dike has seemed to have a habit of getting injured during a transfer window and he has a 100 per cent success rate at The Hawthorns so far although he won’t be all that pleased about it.
The 21-year-old clearly has the talent to lead the line and score plenty of goals for West Brom, particularly how they have started the new Championship season.

But he will never manage it if he is always watching from the physio’s room rather than leading the line and now Bruce is having to go out and find another temporary replacement, just as Valerien Ismael had to do in January.
At least this time, Albion are looking to players who could also have a long-term future in the game rather than the ageing Andy Carroll – who is still without a club – and Davis could be the ideal stand-in on loan if local rivals Villa decide to play ball.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies had offered a trial to this midfielder but he turned it down to join a League One promotion hopeful.
