Steve Bruce reveals Okay Yokuslu can play more part in West Brom matches against Cardiff, Hull City

West Brom manager Steve Bruce has revealed that newly-signed midfielder Okay Yokuslu can play more part in the matches against Cardiff and Hull City.

The 28-year-old has played just 41 minutes in the two matches ever since signing for the club on a permanent deal as a free transfer once his contract with Celta Vigo came to an end.

Bruce was quoted in a report by Birmingham Live where he stated that the decision about Yokuslu’s participation in the upcoming matches will be taken soon.

“He’s [Yokuslu] a bloody good player the kid,” he said. “I think everybody knows that, he’s going to be a big addition. We’ve been careful for him, whether he’s ready for Wednesday or Saturday…we’ll make our call.”

Big signing

West Brom came into the season on the back of a difficult campaign and their start to this season couldn’t have been tougher with them having already faced Middlesborough, Watford and Blackburn.

Seeing the side struggles last time around, it was clear that manager Steve Bruce was keen on signing players with experience.

Signing someone like Yokuslu is definitely a step in that direction as he has already played for the club before and that was back in the Premier League.

With his arrival, Bruce will be hoping that there is more solidity in the middle of the park which would definitely help the attacking players to express themselves and be more creative, without having to worry that they might have to run back.

West Brom fans will also be hoping to see the Turkey international once again showcasing his talent as he did in the 2020-21 season when he spent six months on loan at the Hawthorns.
