West Brom want to sell Callum Robinson, but could change their minds – Alan Nixon
West Brom want a permanent sale of Callum Robinson this summer with Preston North End interested, but Alan Nixon says they could change their minds.
The Baggies are winless in their first three games of the Championship season and are seriously light in attack after Daryl Dike picked up a thigh injury in training which ruled him out of action for two months.
Robinson has attracted interest this summer from Championship rivals Preston and while The Sun journalist Nixon shared on his personal Twitter account that they want a sale, he admitted they could change their minds.
Responding to a fan question on Twitter Nixon said it “could change”, but was unclear about exactly what he meant.
It’s possible that Steve Bruce could sanction a loan move for the 27-year-old Republic of Ireland international, but it could also mean that he is now not willing to let the player leave as he looks for new options in attack.
Decisions
There’s plenty of decisions that Bruce needs to make, but Robinson probably isn’t one of them in all honesty.
The 27-year-old is a versatile option in attack and has a great partnership with Karlan Grant, as they combined for the second most goals in the Championship last season only behind Aleksandr Mitrovic and Harry Wilson as a partnership.

But with Dike, Jed Wallace, Grady Diangana, Matty Phillips and John Swift also as options in the squad plus youngster Reyes Cleary knocking on the door it’s not vital he stays.
If the club are successful in bringing in another attacker as they wish to do too, then it limits his chances even more and he’s immediately replaced.
Whether it’s a loan or a permanent deal has little bearing in all honesty because his future likely lies elsewhere at this point, so there’s not much for the fans to think about when it’s all said and done.
