Jonny Drury: Frustration grows over West Brom striker search

West Brom are desperately in need of a striker after their goalless draw with Cardiff City, according to Express and Star journalist Jonny Drury.

The Baggies have scored three goals this season and are yet to win this season, however their goalless draw with the Bluebirds on 17 August underlined their need for a reliable goalscorer.

Drury underlined this need in a YouTube video posted after the Cardiff game, revealing that the desire for a frontman is increasing.

Drury said: “The frustration is growing off the pitch with Albion’s search for a striker.

“Tonight really underlined how much they need a forward.

“The need for a striker is really there.”

WBA’s Striker Chase

However, the Manchester City striker instead joined the Potters where it is widely believed that his father’s influence, former Premier League midfielder Rory Delap, was key in his decision.

Steve Bruce will have to lick his wounds after losing Delap to a Championship rival and dip back into the market for a reliable goal scorer.

It is imperative the Baggies find a new forward before the end of the window as their current form has them languishing in 22nd place in the Championship.

In other West Brom news, the club have reportedly freed up wages to bring in a striker.
