Time is running out for Steve Bruce at West Brom

West Brom entered this season with hopes of securing a place in the top flight of English football after having a disastrous campaign last time around.

There were a lot of expectations from manager Steve Bruce who is famous for getting his teams promoted to the Premier League having done it so many times before.

However, the Baggies were poor again as they were held to a third draw out of the first four league matches, this time against Cardiff City at The Hawthorns.

Time running out

Before the season started, Bruce and West Brom fans were hopeful that their side will definitely going to be in the mix for a promotion to the Premier League after a lacklustre campaign last time around.

The expectations were down to the fact that the Baggies managed to secure very important singings in experienced Jed Wallace, John Swift and most recently Okay Yokuslu.

However, this season started as bad as the baggies could’ve imagined as they still remain winless after the first four matches where they have only managed to register three points out of the maximum 12 which left them in the relegation zone [Transfermarkt]

Therefore, it is important that manager Bruce and his players will get their actions together and try to secure all three points as soon as possible.

Those numbers are extremely poor compared to where West Brom were in the last season where they already had 10 points but yet they failed to get a place in the promotion playoffs [Transfermarkt].

Despite having a solid start last season, the Baggies’ management was ruthless as they sacked Valerian Ismael despite the club sitting fifth in the league table with 45 points after 29 matches [11v11].

Bruce had a bit of an excuse of not working with the players in the pre-season when he arrived last season but that cannot be used anymore and looking at how ruthless the club’s ownership is, if the results do not improve in the near future, we might be seeing the start of the end of Bruce’s reign at The Hawthorns.

Time is running out.
