West Brom ace Grady Diangana thrills Chris Lepkowski v Hull City

West Brom winger Grady Diangana was again the star of the show against Hull City as the Baggies ran riot at The Hawthorns.

An own goal from Callum Elder got the goals flowing in the first half before an early blitz in the second period saw the Tigers off thanks to strikes from John Swift and Darnell Furlong before Karlan Grant converted a penalty.

It was a long overdue victory for Albion who had drawn three of their first four games in the Championship prior to the visit of Hull who themselves started the new campaign well.

Diangana was the standout performer in attack and former West Brom media officer Chris Lepkowski was in awe of the former West Ham winger.

“Diangana started so well for West Brom. A threat on the left one minute, chasing back to challenge on the edge of his box the next,” he said via his personal Twitter account. “Would be good to see Swift pushing on to support Grant to get on the end of those crosses. Tufan going off is a relief – he looked a pest for Hull.”

Finally

Baggies fans have been waiting for the best part of two years to see the best of Diangana and it is wonderful to see him nearly back at full flow again.

There are few players in the second tier who can cause as much carnage as he can and with the likes of Jed Wallace and John Swift in the side to create their own versions of carnage, defenders struggle to cope with all three of them.

West Brom

In truth, West Brom should not have had to wait this long for their first victory of the season considering how well they have played in the other fixtures but the crucial thing is getting that first win on the board.

Now they have managed to do that, it’s time to push on both on and off the field because there are still improvements to be made in the playing squad and the momentum from this win has to be carried onwards to the next fixture and beyond.

In other West Brom news, Bruce made a huge call to drop one of his senior players from the starting lineup against the Tigers but it seemed to work.
