Steve Bruce hopes to bring two new players for West Brom before deadline
Steve Bruce is hopeful that he can sign at least two new players for West Brom before the end of the transfer window, as relayed by journalist Tom Ross.
The Baggies have operated on a tight financial budget this summer, and he has admitted that it is really difficult to go out in the market and sign players.
However, he is still keen to overhaul the squad and suggests that the club is working to secure a loan signing, who can make a big difference.
Tom Ross wrote on Twitter: “Spoke to Baggies Boss Steve Bruce for TalkSport this morning. Says he is hopeful of at least 2 new signings before the transfer window closes on Thursday. He highlighted how difficult it was with little money to spend but says you get still get a loan signing that can make a difference.
“Says with 8 out and 3 in they are still working on the overhaul of the squad that was needed. also said on their day they are a match for any team in the Championship.”
Get it done
This has been a tough summer for the Baggies.
It was always going to be difficult for Steve Bruce to bring in new players. Without enough financial assistance, a squad overhaul is practically impossible.
Bruce is right that on their day they can beat any Championship side, but to secure promotion you need to play consistently well.
They have made a stuttering start to the season. They drew their opening two games, and have picked up just one win from their five league games so far.

The form needs to improve, but it’s a long season, and Bruce will hope that they can pick up the momentum at some point.
Having said that, Bruce cannot hide his frustration. So far, only three players have come into the side, with two of them being on free transfers.
The club is looking to bring in a few players on loan. The next few days could be really vital for the Baggies.
