Cardiff City set to sign West Brom forward Callum Robinson for £1.5m
Cardiff City are set to sign West Brom forward Callum Robinson on the deadline day, as reported by BBC Sport Wales.
The Blue Birds have agreed a deal in the region of £1.5m to sign the 27-year-old. Steve Bruce has also confirmed that the player is heading for the exit.
Bruce has bemoaned throughout the summer that he is operating on a tight budget. Now, he has got some funds to bring in new faces before Thursday’s deadline.
Crucial few hours
Robinson failed to start a league game for the Baggies this season after falling out of favour.
However, it was an injury that kept him out of the squad for Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Wigan.
Robinson scored eight goals in 44 appearances last season for the Baggies, and managed 17 goals for the club as he ends his spell at the Hawthorns.
West Brom have announced the signing of striker Brandon Thomas-Asante from Salford for an undisclosed fee, and Bruce will be looking for one or two more additions.

The Baggies have made a poor start to the season, and they desperately need more quality in their attacking areas.
It is a good move all parties involved here. Robinson was out of favour, and he needed to move on.
He still has three years left on his current deal at The Hawthorns, and the Baggies have got a decent value for him.
It now remains to be seen how quickly can Bruce sign a few players, with adding a midfielder remaining a priority for the club.
