West Brom transfer for Josh Onomah is now off as EFL make decision
West Brom have seen their loan move for Fulham midfielder Josh Onomah completely fall through now, according to Mike McGrath.
The Telegraph journalist has reported that the EFL have told the Baggies that there are no grounds to change the decision despite receiving late documents.
It’s a double blow for Steve Bruce too, with a move for Brighton midfielder Steven Alzate also now ruled out completely despite making the same request.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, McGrath shared the news that will no doubt leave everyone at The Hawthorns absolutely infuriated.
“West Brom deals for Onomah and Alzate are OFF,” he wrote.
“Club asked about deals going through after deadline but EFL told them no grounds to change decision.”
Shocking.
How has this been allowed to happen?
The EFL surely would have seen that the medical and media obligations were finished, so it was on Fulham’s end that we are left in this situation where the deadline went past.
If we were in the Premier League, it would have been fine as a deal sheet could have been sent off, but there is no such thing in the Football League and the deadline is strict.
Fulham were way more bothered about their incomings rather than those going the other way as they look to stay in the Premier League, and that has backfired on us.
So, it is all eyes now on the free agent market as we look to improve the squad with Ron Gourlay now needing to really pull a rabbit out of the hat to make this worthwhile.
Hopefully, this can lead us to a better signing, with that midfield clearly the main target – fingers crossed for more luck this time around.
In other West Brom news, the club had already been dealt a “massive kick in the head” in latest transfer window.
