Callum Robinson hails ‘incredible’ West Brom after Cardiff City switch
West Brom may not have sealed any deadline day signings but they did bring in a healthy transfer fee as one of their stalwarts left the club.
Republic of Ireland international Callum Robinson left The Hawthorns having been a semi-regular player last season and even less involved at the start of the new campaign.
Cardiff City came in and bought the 27-year-old for £1.5million and Robinson has since posted an emotional farewell to the club after the weekend’s games had finished.
“Enjoyed every moment at West Brom,” he said via Twitter. “There’s been ups and downs but it’s always been an honour to pull on the shirt.
“Thanks to everyone at the club for making my time an enjoyable one and most importantly thank you to the fans for your incredible support. Wish you all the best!”

When West Brom are going for promotion this season, they can’t afford to have players around who are not good enough to make the step up to the top flight because the levels are not that different from the top of the second tier to the bottom of the top flight.
Robinson has proved that apart from every time he plays against Chelsea, where he seems to score twice, he isn’t quite cut out to be the Premier League performer that he needs to be.

Steve Bruce needed to clear some of the players he didn’t want out of the club before the deadline struck and when the Bluebirds are offering a seven-figure sum it is difficult to turn down.
Karlan Grant has taken the number nine spot for his own and Brandon Thomas-Asante’s goal-scoring debut proves that there is no need for any more strikers to be lurking around when Daryl Dike is yet to return from injury too.
In other West Brom news, it was a story of what if on deadline day as talks to sign a Bundesliga striker broke down late on.
