West Brom in race to sign ex-England international Fabian Delph

West Brom are in the race to sign former England international and Everton midfielder Fabian Delph, according to Football League World.

The 32-year-old was released by the Toffees at the end of last season after he helped them to survival in the Premier League but he is yet to find a new club.

Steve Bruce has targeted him as a potential new recruit having already signed Tom Rogic and Erik Pieters outside of the transfer window on free transfers.

West Brom

Albion face plenty of Championship challengers in the form of Sheffield United, Middlesbrough, Reading and Sunderland as well as Scottish giants Rangers.

Delph made 11 appearances last season for Everton but possesses heaps of experience with 20 England caps to his name as well as hundreds of games for Leeds United, Aston Villa and Manchester City.

Avoid

Bruce is yet to see if Rogic or Pieters are going to come into the side and make the big difference he hopes they will so he should not be looking to add another free agent just yet.

Surely he has to take a moment to realise that these players are without a club for a reason and West Brom really should be avoiding such players from now on.

West Brom

They have more than their fair share of problems to deal with at The Hawthorns and it seems like they have decided that signing players here, there and everywhere is the way to solve it.

They need to be looking more internally at what is causing such bad form which sees the Baggies lie 20th in the table after nine matches rather than who they can find externally to change that.

Bruce is under serious pressure in the hot seat now and maybe this is him starting to crack.

In other West Brom news, Bruce will be without his star defender Semi Ajayi for some time as he dishes the all-important update on his fitness.
