Chris Lepkowski shares reaction after West Brom 1-1 v Norwich City

West Brom earned a well-deserved 1-1 draw against Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday (17 September) in the Championship.

Chris Lepkowski has shared his reaction on Twitter after the Baggies earned a draw today.

He thinks it is a “much better performance” from the Baggies, and that the lethargy they showed in midweek was not there. He praised three players for praise including Jake Livermore.

Lepkowski wrote on Twitter: “Much better performance by WBA. World away from the lethargy of midweek. Norwich had won 6 games before this – a draw at Carrow Road is a good result. BTA, Pieters and Livermore v good after coming in.

“I should add, as many have, that under the circumstances we needed a win. But speaking generally about the performance it was a marked improvement. And a draw against a team that has won half a dozen *should* be something to build on.”

Positives

Lepkowski is spot on here. The performance deserves praise and had they been lucky with some referring decisions, they should won the game as well.

Livermore was fantastic throughout the game and so are other players. Collectively and individually, this was a much better performance.

They got an early goal through Dara O’Shea who was unmarked at the far post. Grady Diangana and Brandon Thomas-Asante were excellent as well.

Having said that, it is indeed a worrying sign that the Baggies have managed just one win in their last 10 league games.

West Brom

For a club that is aiming to secure promotion to the Premier League, this is not acceptable.

There is no doubt that Steve Bruce has improved the squad but results are needed.

It was a commendable effort to get a point away at Carrow Road, considering Norwich had won six games in a row.

West Brom can’t manage a win at the moment, let alone pick up a series of wins and go on a run. If this trend continues, it could be another frustrating season for them.
