Steve Bruce rages after controversial footage emerges from West Brom v Norwich

Steve Bruce was seen raging in the first half of the West Brom v Norwich City clash on Saturday after his side were denied a penalty.

Grant Hanley looked to have made contact with John Swift who was brought down inside the penalty area with many expecting the referee to point to the spot.

However, as that did not happen the Baggies boss appeared furious and the replay justified his rage at the decision.

Via Twitter, Birmingham Live journalist Joe Chapman wrote, “Poor from Norwich at the back. Ball is handed straight to Diangana, who slips Swift in on the overlap. One touch takes the ball away from the oncoming Hanley, who then floors Swift. Nothing given. Bruce raging.”

Shocking

Such decisions happen every weekend in the Championship and we’re not sure why technology isn’t used to correct these shockers.

Clubs lose millions for something that is not their fault and if West Brom drop points today, they’ll be closer to relegation than they should be.

Bruce has every right to be fuming, especially when it’s his job that will be on the line and not the referees who make such abhorring calls.

They do lead by a narrow score at the break and now need to ensure that they come out strongly in the second half to score another goal.

A one-goal lead is always dicey and they cannot afford to play defensive football for an entire half of football as the Canaries will get at least one good goal-scoring chance.

They’ve got players that were in the Premier League last season so nothing can be taken for granted, especially how woeful the Baggies have been recently.

In other West Brom news, John Terry was spotted fuming on Twitter after a Baggies suggestion during Chelsea v Leeds United.
