West Brom fans gave standing ovation after 1-1 v Norwich City
West Brom claimed a point at Carrow Road and ended Norwich City’s six-game winning run on Saturday (17 September) in the Championship clash.
Dara O’Shea’s opened the scoring for the Baggies, but it was cancelled out in the second half by Sam Byram.
Lewis Cox of the Express & Star reported (17 September) on Twitter that West Brom fans gave a standing ovation to the team, and also fans applauded Steve Bruce after the game.
Unfortunate
It was indeed an improved performance from the Baggies.
Jake Livermore was superb throughout the game while Grady Diangana was brilliant as well.
O’Shea was completely unmarked as he scored with a thumping header. The Baggies did trouble the home side with set pieces.
To be honest, Steve Bruce’s side deserves more than just a point. They didn’t get enough assistance from the referee, and in the first half, a blatant penalty was not given.

Unfortunately, they could not keep hold of the lead with Byram scoring in the 68th minute.
There were more positives in their approach, both collectively and individually. But, one win in 10 games is not good enough for the club that are aiming for promotion this season.
It further puts pressure on his job. The club is in a terrible position, although he can’t be blamed completely for the mess. Sitting at 21st, a point above the relegation zone, clearly the board needs to act now.
