Ahmed Hegazy shares the love with West Brom heroes Chris Brunt and James Morrison on Instagram
Ahead of Saturday’s Clash Of The Legends game at the Hawthorns, ex-West Brom defender Ahmed Hegazy left a loving comment on the club’s Instagram page.
Hegazy is fondly remembered by the Albion, making 104 appearances for the club, scoring four goals and providing two assists during his stint in the West Midlands.
The menacing centre-back shared the love with Chris Brunt and James Morrison on West Brom’s official Instagram page, naming the two talents as “Two legends”.

The Instagram post involved Chris Brunt chatting ahead of the weekend’s charity clash, highlighting that the affair will be a tasty one with tackles aplenty.
“I’m sure there will be a fair few tackles going in, a few naughty ones left on each other, if I get the chance to, I’m sure he would (Morrison) if he gets the chance to on me,” said Brunt.
Mean former centre-back Hagazi evidently loved the talk of tackles and replied lovingly to the post “Two legends”.

Unpaid fees
Hegazi joined Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ittihad back in 2020 in an initial loan move with the deal later being made permanent by both parties.
Nevertheless, West Brom lodged a complaint to FIFA that they were still owed money from the £2.5million deal; it isn’t known how much.
Hegazi ultimately left the Hawthorns due to him being one of the club’s top earners, his £70,000 a week salary needed to be cleared after failure to gain promotion back to the Premier League.
There’s been little news to suggest if the dealings were resolved, however, it’s hardly shocking that the Albion would be owed money with the current poor leadership of the club.
The Egyptian himself has since gone on to impress massively in Saudi Arabia and made the Saudi Pro Team of the Season after an impressive 2021/2022 campaign.
It’s a shame the Baggies lost his massive presence at the heart of their defence, his monstrous abilities would be welcomed right now.
In other West Brom news, a finance guru has raised a “red flag” over what he’s heard about Albion’s accounting.
