Ex West Brom striker Marc-Antoine Fortune left out of Clash of Legends

West Brom announced the lineups of both James Morrison and Chris Brunt’s teams, but there was a notable omission from the squads.

In the match which is billed as the Clash of Legends, many expected former striker Marc-Antoine Fortune to be named in the matchday squad.

Via their official website, the Baggies confirmed that Fortune will be playing so his omission does come as somewhat of a surprise.

Late injury?

Fans surely are looking forward to seeing these players in action and would’ve expected to see Fortune in action, banging in the goals.

However, his absence raises questions about whether or not he suffered an injury in the build-up to the game.

Not being in action for so long and suddenly expecting to do the hard yards is undoubtedly tough for them and it’s excruciating on their bodies.

Hopefully, Fortune’s injury is nothing serious as the last thing he would’ve wanted on his return to football will be a long-term niggle.

Regardless, both sides have plenty of quality and this is going to be a balanced game with players fond of playing attacking football.

We believe that Team Brunty have the edge going into the game but anything can happen and we’re really excited to watch this.
