Guy Mowbray praises West Brom on-loan midfielder Quevin Castro for ‘superb’ strike v York City
BBC commentator Guy Mowbray has heaped praise on Notts County’s on-loan West Brom midfielder Quevin Castro for his brilliant performance against York City.
The 21-year-old scored a worldie for Notts County and helped the side secure a 3-1 win on Saturday.
Mowbray, on his Twitter account on Sunday, was full of praise of the young midfielder and termed his strike “superb”.
“Saw a player yesterday. Quevin Castro – on loan to Notts County from WBA,” he wrote.
“Superb [freekick]. Although…..no wall needed from that range. Better chance for keeper without.”
One for the future
West Brom are going through a challenging campaign where they are placed in the bottom half of the table after securing just 10 points from the same amount of fixtures.
Those results have definitely taken away all the excitement and optimism around The Hawthorns as the fans are now fearing the worst.
In these testing times, any good news is even more significant and that would’ve been the case for the Baggies fans after watching their homegrown talent Castro producing an absolutely brilliant goal from 35 yards out on Saturday.

Historically, West Brom have never been a household name when it comes to developing homegrown talent but in Castro, they seemingly have this unique opportunity to have a player who can become something special in the future.
The fans will be optimistic that the ongoing loan spell will help the 21-year-old in becoming a player of high class who can serve the side for a good part of the next decade.
In other West Brom news, Albion are struggling to sell tickets for a match this weekend with fewer than 10,000 sold.
