Jonas Olsson claims West Brom are ‘in good hands’ under Steve Bruce
Jonas Olsson has backed West Brom boss Steve Bruce to silence his critics and turn results around at the Hawthorns this season.
The Baggies currently sit 21st in the Championship after a dire start to the season that has included just one win In 10 games.
As a result, Bruce has found his job under massive pressure in the West Midlands and could face the sack if results don’t improve.

But former Baggies defender Olsson doesn’t think it’ll come to that and has backed Bruce as the right man to lead the club forward.
Speaking to Express & Star, Olsson said: “I’ve watched quite a few games as well and thought we’ve played some really good football this year.
“We’ve been unlucky with results sometimes, but I think it’s a major step forward in terms of performance.
“I think there is a really talented squad as well and a good manager and coaching staff also. Hopefully the results will come. I think the club’s in good hands in terms of manager.”
Performance isn’t enough
Performances have improved in recent weeks under Bruce, but sadly that doesn’t convert into points.
For one reason or another, the Baggies simply can’t find their winning touch under Bruce, with a bizarre seven draws already this season.

Only losing twice this season deserves credit and shows the side’s resolve, but the pattern of draws simply can’t continue.
Hopefully, the international break has come at a good time for the squad to shake off their tendency to settle for a draw, as they’ll need to earn three points sooner rather than later if Bruce is to stay in the Baggies hot seat.
Swansea, Preston and Luton Town make up West Brom’s next three. If the club still sit on just one win after those then Bruce will be waving goodbye to the Hawthorns.
Ideally, Olsson’s predictions are correct and Bruce turns things around and starts to build some momentum. But the feeling around the club right now is mostly negative and that only makes things harder.
