Steve Bruce issues positive injury update on Tom Rogic ahead of West Brom clash v Swansea

Tom Rogic is in line to finally make his West Brom debut this weekend after Steve Bruce confirmed he’s returning from an injury.

Rogic joined the Baggies from Celtic on a free transfer in the summer but is yet to make his debut for his new club due to injury.

However, the Australian international is expected to be involved during Saturday’s Championship clash against Swansea City.

Bruce issued the positive injury update on Friday morning while speaking to West Brom’s official website.

“He will be involved,” stated the West Brom boss.

“These last couple of weeks have allowed us to get plenty of intense work into him in a bid to get him as close to where we need him to be in a physical sense.

“He’s crammed a lot of work in over the last ten days. Having watched him over the international break in training, he’s a very, very good footballer.

“I’m sure he’s going to be a big addition for us.”

Creativity

Rogic’s availability will be music to Bruce’s ears. With the West Brom boss under intense pressure after a poor start to the season, he’ll be looking forward to freshening up his squad this weekend.

On top of that, Rogic was brought in over the summer to improve the starting lineup, and his injury has hindered the team’s creativity.

He was a constant goal threat for Celtic in Scotland and is very capable when it comes to linking up midfield and attack.

Goals haven’t exactly been the issue for Bruce’s side – who have scored 15 in 10 games – but Rogic’s input can never be overstated.

Draws have plagued West Brom’s start to the season, and it’s blatantly clear that they quickly have to turn a handful of them into wins. Rogic could be the difference maker.

Saturday is a huge chance for him to get up and running in blue and white.
