Sky Sports pundit predicts scoreline of West Brom clash v Preston North End

David Prutton has predicted West Brom to continue their misery when they take on Preston North End in the Championship on Wednesday.

The Baggies are currently 21st on the table and desperately need a win to turn their fortunes around with pressure mounting on Steve Bruce.

However, Prutton does not see that happening as he has gone for a 1-0 win for the hosts.

West Brom

He told Sky Sports, “A sixth goalless draw for Preston on Saturday, as they held Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. There have been just seven goals in their 11 games so far, which is pretty staggering to be honest!

“Steve Bruce will be under real pressure at West Brom. Just one win all season is simply not good enough and he needs to find a formula soon because the Baggies should be aiming at least for the top six. Confidence looks low, and I think they could lose at Deepdale to turn up the heat.”

Bruce gone?

Another defeat could quickly see the board turn on Bruce and make him redundant as relegation is now a very realistic possibility.

The Baggies started the campaign with hopes to secure promotion and made decent signings that would help them get there.

However, after 11 games they find themselves three points away from the bottom side and a colossal 14 from the top of the table.

Bruce knows that this cannot continue for long and if he’s failing to bring a reaction out of the players then it does not make sense to keep him in the job.

Most, if not all the Baggies players look worse than they did last season and it all cannot be their fault.

Something has to give and we fear that it could be the manager’s last game in charge if his side ends up losing the game so the pressure is undoubtedly high.
