West Brom boss Steve Bruce defends himself after social media video outburst
West Brom boss Steve Bruce has defended himself after a social media video leaked online of him having a heated argument with a fan.
Bruce was filmed having a heated discussion with a fan outside the club’s team bus after Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to Preston North End.
The under-pressure boss claimed there was “no need” for the fan to be making such an outburst in front of children, however, he admitted that he “understands” their anguish.
“I went to placate someone who was shouting and bawling obscenities at us from a very short distance,” said Bruce as quoted by the Express and Star.
“I got off the coach, as far as I can remember, to say I understand his frustrations.
“But that there’s no need to be shouting and bawling when there are kids around. I understand it, I get it. ‘Have a safe trip home’ was how I ended it to him. That was it as far as I’m concerned.”

Pain.
You’ve got to feel for Bruce a bit here, he’s in a job that he definitely shouldn’t be in anymore and the frustrations and pressure finally seem to be getting to him.
Hopefully, Saturday’s fixture against Luton Town will spell the end of his reign and the club and supporters can finally move on to better days.
This situation just seems to be being prolonged for no reason right now and it’s frustrating for fans and everyone involved at the club.
The longer Bruce stays, the more likely Albion will sink into the abyss of the relegation zone, something the squad are way above in terms of quality.
In a pressure-filled position, Bruce’s actions here are way off the mark and it’s not the type of cool, calm and collected energy you want in your boss.
A poor showing against Luton Town will surely be curtains for the Baggies boss.
