West Brom fans direct toxic chants towards Steve Bruce after Luton result

West Brom fans were left frustrated after the Baggies drew 0-0 against Luton Town at the Hawthorns on Saturday in the Championship clash.

The Atheltic journalist, Elias Burke wrote on Twitter (8 October) that after Bruce took off Grady Diangana and Brandon Thomas-Asante, the fans directed their chants towards Steve Bruce.

Throughout the game, the fans voiced their anger towards the club owner Goucharan Lai, as poor results do not seem to end, anytime soon.

Elias wrote on Twitter: “Chants of ‘Bruce out’ and ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’ directed at the Albion manager.”

Surely he must go

Despite some pundits trying to suggest that Bruce must be given time, surely this is a dead end.

Bruce suggested after the match that both Thomas-Asante and Diangana picked up knocks, and hence he took them off.

The Baggies boss looks almost resigned as if he is at his wits end on how to rectify the situation.

One win in 13 games is simply not acceptable. The fans now want him gone, and the team looks bereft of confidence.

There have been some good individual performances, but apart from that this doesn’t look like a team that can get into the top half of the table, let alone promotion.

West Brom

If the Baggies cannot find a way to win at home, it gives a grim picture. They started the game strongly and created several fantastic opportunities.

And yet, they failed to break the Luton defence. Bruce doesn’t seem confident that he would be in charge for the game against Reading, and that should be the end of it.

In other West Brom news, Chris Lepkowski has scolded what he brands as a “rancid, horrible bunch” that have made the Baggies dressing room toxic.
