Chris Lepkowski reacts as West Brom sack Steve Bruce
Chris Lepkowski has suggested on Twitter that West Brom have made the “correct call” as they confirmed the sacking of Steve Bruce on Wednesday (10 October) morning.
The Baggies are on a poor run of form having managed just one win in their last 13 Championship games.
As per Joe Chapman of The Birmingham Live, Alex Bruce, Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence have also left the club. Rich Beale will take control of the team as caretaker boss.
Lepkowski wrote on Twitter: “Correct call, but yet another damning statistic. It is now the 5th out of 6 seasons that WBA have made an in-season change. Not one of those changes has had the desired impact. Maybe the next guy will be better? The bigger picture is of a club that keeps getting it wrong.”
Correct call
Steve Bruce was appointed with the view to take the team to the Premier League.
However, it has turned into a nightmare as the club are now in the relegation zone. The fans directed toxic chants towards Bruce against Luton Town, and that was the final straw.
The Baggies are without a win in their last eight games. The squad is still good enough to challenge for promotion, but Bruce looked absolutely clueless about how to turn the situation.
His old-school tactics were simply not working and it was the right call made by the club.

But the key here is the club need to appoint a smart manager and change the system at the club.
Fresh ideas are needed at the moment. West Brom have been appointing poor managers and they need to break the cycle, otherwise, the same problem will continue.
The club must take time to find the right candidate and they cannot get it wrong this time.
In other West Brom news, Chris Lepkowski has scolded what he brands as a “rancid, horrible bunch” that have made the Baggies dressing room toxic.
