Richard Beale on standby at West Brom as no instant appointment expected
No instant appointment is expected at West Brom this week after Steve Bruce was relieved of his duties, according to Joe Chapman.
The Birmingham Live journalist has shared that Richard Beale is on standby to take charge at Reading over the weekend, as he currently fills in to take training.
It is reported that the recruitment process has obviously begun, but it may take time to get a new manager into The Hawthorns and signed on the dotted line.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Chapman shared if fans can expect any news to come out of the club sooner rather than later.
“No guarantees that Albion will have a new man in place by Saturday,” he wrote.
“Rich Beale, who has filled in as caretaker boss at Blues before now, on standby to oversee Reading game. Recruitment process starts now but no instant appointment is expected.”
No Plan.
That much has been made very clear.
Guochuan Lai and Ron Gourlay have been forced into this decision, let’s make that very clear as the fans make themselves heard over the weekend and all season.
Bruce was their man and their continued faith over recent weeks highlighted that, but now they have to get looking elsewhere for something that will actually work.
We have been down this route far too many times in recent years and made the same mistakes, going for an older manager with the so-called experience of doing it all before.
Look at the success stories of the modern day in the Championship and the Premier League, a lot of them are young, fresh coaches with an idea of how they want to play.
That is exactly what we need, and it is screaming us in the face, yet mistakes are made time and time again – we cannot afford to get this one wrong.
In other West Brom news, speculation is only set to increase surrounding one name as the Baggies job is now available
