Nigel Quashie casts doubt on possibility of West Brom hiring Sean Dyche

Nigel Quashie believes West Brom manager target Sean Dyche will be more interested in taking a job in the Premier League.

The 51-year-old has been heavily linked with the post available at The Hawthorns after the sacking of Steve Bruce on Monday, 10 October.

The 44-year-old, in response to a comment on his Twitter account that the former Burnley manager is on the shortlist of the Baggies for the job, stated that Dyche will want to test himself in the Premier League after his impressive record with the Clarets.

“I think he [Dyche] will get a Premier League job,” he wrote.

“I think he’s been brilliant in terms of the size of Burnley compared to other Premier League clubs. I think the rest would’ve done him good and he will want to test himself in the Premier League again.”

However, things went south as the side only managed to secure one win in 13 matches, leaving them in the relegation zone.

Those results ended up costing Bruce his job on Monday just eight months after he took over from Valerien Ismael.

One of the reasons Bruce failed to live up to the expectations was his inability to get the best out of the available talent.

Therefore, despite whatever Quashie said, the West Brom hierarchy must make a move for someone like Dyche who has tons of experience in the Premier League and has showcased over the years that he can improve players and has delivered with limited resources.

During his time at Turf Moor, the 51-year-old led the side to 152 wins in 425 matches across all competitions with 159 defeats whereas 114 games ended in a draw [Transfermarkt].

All eyes are on this manager hunt.
